Day 1 Arrive in Puerto Inírida – El Remanso
After your arrival at the airport of Puerto Inírida (ask us about flying in a DC-3), you will continue with the boat upstream Río Inirida until you reach the area of El Remanso, a little indigenous village. Here you set up camp, either tents or hammocks, depending on your personal preferences.
Day 2 El Remanso
After breakfast the hike up to the peak of Mavecure begins. At the beginning the rocks seems to be slick but soon you become confident and will reach the summit. The view to the rainforest and the other granite mountains from there is even better. Afterwards you will be heading back upstream to the beach of Mavecure. In the afternoon, you can relax or take a refreshing bath in the river. If you are lucky you can even see the pink dolphins under the water surface.
Day 3 El Remanso – Puerto Inírida
Leave your campsite after breakfast for La Ceiba, an indigenous village on the Río Inírida. After a short hike through the rainforest, where you will see sill another aspect of the fascinating Amazonian nature you will enjoy a typical lunch. Later you will cruise down the river to Inírida to spend the night in the town. Another option is to spend the night in a settlement with an indigenous community.
Day 4 Leave Puerto Inírida
Leave Puerto Inírida for Bogotá.
